WASHINGTON – Senator Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio) introduced the Deploying American Blockchains Acta bipartisan bill that will ensure that the United States leads in the secure development of blockchain technology. Senators Tim Sheehy (R-Mont.) and Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) joined Senator Moreno on the bill.

“America is the birthplace of innovation, and we should be leading in the responsible development of blockchain,” said Senator Moreno. “My bill will ensure the United States is a global leader in blockchain and give Americans even more financial choices.

“As blockchain technology rapidly transforms the global marketplace, it is critical for the United States to maintain a competitive edge,” said Senator Sheehy. “I’m proud to be part of this bipartisan legislation that will open new doors for digital innovation and ensure we don’t fall behind countries like China in the development of this critical technology.

“It’s crucial that we remain at the cutting edge of industrial innovation, and blockchain technology can be an important part of this change,” said Senator Blunt Rochester. “This bill takes an important step in building out our industrial innovation ecosystem by examining how American manufacturers can best utilize blockchain technology to modernize manufacturing processes, improve supply chain transparency, and increase accountability in production systems. I’m looking forward to advancing this bipartisan effort, alongside Senator Moreno, to prepare us for a 21st century manufacturing and supply chain landscape.

The Deploying American Blockchains Act is also supported by the Digital Chamber:

“The Digital Chamber applauds Senators Moreno (R-OH), Blunt Rochester (D-DE), and Sheehy (R-MT), along with Representatives Cammack (R-FL) and Soto (D-FL), for introducing the Deploying American Blockchains Act of 2025. This bipartisan effort marks a meaningful step toward establishing a national strategy for blockchain technology. By directing the U.S. Department of Commerce to engage stakeholders and set clear principles for blockchain use and deployment, this bill fosters innovation, certainty, and ensures consumer protections. It also signals that the U.S. is serious about leading on blockchain, not just reacting to it. The Digital Chamber look forward to collaborating with Congress and the Administration to advance this commonsense framework that positions the U.S. as a global leader. We’re proud to support the Deploying Americas Blockchains Act of 2025,” said Cody Carbone, CEO, The Digital Chamber.
